Whiteboard is a one-day, in-person program developed by The Engine (MIT) for faculty and principal investigators exploring the transition from research to startup. Whether you’re early in the process or looking to deepen your understanding, the program provides space to reflect on your role as a founder, connect with peers, and learn directly from experienced Tough Tech entrepreneurs.
Led by The Engine team, guest experts, and seasoned faculty founders, sessions center on the three essential forms of capital in venture building:
- Human capital – building and leading a team
- Intellectual capital – translating your research into a product or service
- Financial capital – exploring funding strategies and investment paths
The day is structured to encourage candid conversations, peer learning, and informal networking in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
